Bhima Koregaon violence: Supreme Court extends house arrest of 5 activists till September 17
The Supreme Court has extended the house arrest of the five rights activists who were arrested by the Maharashtra Police in connection with the Bhima Koregaon violence last month. The five activists are Varavara Rao, Arun Ferreira, Vernon Gonsalves, Sudha Bharadwaj and Gautam Navlakha. Noted historian Romila Thapar and four others had moved the Supreme Court against the arrest of the five activists. The house arrest was then extended till September 12 and has now been further extended till September 17.
