1.39 Lakh Affected As Fresh Wave Of Floods Hit Six Assam Districts
No deaths were reported during the fresh floods in Brahmaputra which was triggered by heavy rain. At least Assam six districts have been hit by floods as torrential rains in Arunachal Pradesh raised the water level of the Brahmaputra and its tributaries downstream on Saturday, affecting more than one lakh people, official sources said. An Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) report said Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Biswanath, Barpeta, Majuli and Dibrugarh districts have been hit by the deluge affecting 12 revenue circles with 337 villages.
