The State Women's Commission has cautioned P C George, MLA, against attempting to intimidate it from discharging its constitutional duties. Legislators have a commitment to the legal system and the oath of office. The legislation giving SWC the power to take suo motu case and to prosecute had been passed by the State Assembly. The SWC will intervene whenever women are denied justice or discriminated against. Mr George's explanation will be sought by the SWC at his convenience, the statement said.
